You may contact the PAN/TIN FC center where you have submitted the PAN application form along with required documents to know the reason for delay in processing.
The applicant is required to fill all the columns of the form and tick the box(es) on the left margin of the appropriate item where change/correction is to be done.
You can apply for PAN by filling up Application for Allotment of Permanent Account Number (PAN application form). The forms are -
- Form 49A (for Indian Citizens)
- Form 49AA (for Foreign Citizens)
PAN application can be made either online through Protean web-site www.tin-nsdl.com ( Click here to apply for PAN online) or through any of the Protean TIN-Facilitation Centres/ PAN Centres ( Click here to select the nearest TIN – Facilitation Centers/ PAN centres where PAN application may be submitted).
This facility can be availed by those PAN holders whose latest PAN application was processed through Protean or have obtained PAN using ‘Instant e-PAN’ facility on e-filling portal of ITD. Permanent Account Number (PAN) is also mentioned on the PAN allotment letter and e-PAN copy which you must have received on the registered email ID. In the absence of these, you may contact Income Tax Department helpline(Aaykar Sampark Kendra) on 1800 180 1961.
